Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil or olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat: Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat a cast iron skillet or other oven proof skillet on the stove to medium-high heat.
  • Combine ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the oregano, thyme, seasoned salt, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and oil. Add the chicken breasts to the bowl and coat with the seasoning blend.
  • Sear: Add some additional oil to the hot skillet and place the chicken breasts into the skillet. Sear the chicken breasts for 3 minutes on each side.
  • Bake: Using hand protection, transfer the skillet to the oven and bake the chicken breasts for 20 minutes or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the breast reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Serve: Using hand protection, remove the skillet from the oven and allow to rest for 10 minutes. Serve the chicken breasts whole or sliced.
